I have an amazing group of ladies on my Stampin' Up! Team. They are funny, creative, and I consider them amazing friends!
We had an all day training event earlier this summer. Many, many people were involved in making it a success. My friend, Jessica Ingold showed how to make a swing card. What a fun technique! Along with that, Margot Richardson showed the inking acrylic blocks to make a cool background. I had done this background technique using alcohol markers, but hadn't used the Stampin' Write Markers before. I decided to combine the two techniques for this card.
I did this video to show how to make the card. I wanted to post the actual dimensions, because I wasn't very clear about dimensions on the video:
The base of the card was Bermuda Bay, and measured 4.25 x 11 inches ( a sheet of cardstock cut vertically in half)
The "W" for the base of the card was 2.5 x 4.25 inches - scored along the 2.5 inch edge at 0.5, 1, and 1.75 inches.
The Pool Party front was 4 x 5.25 inches
The swing mechanism was 0.5 x 1.5 inches, scored along the 1.5 inch edge at 0.25, 0.75, and 1.25 inches.
The acrylic piece to attach the whale to the swing mechanism was 0.5 x 2 inches, and trimmed as necessary so that the whale hung where I wanted it.
The piece for the background was 4 x 5.25 inches of Shimmer White.
Stamps used were from the Whale Done Bundle
Texture Folder used : Old World Paper
Here is a video showing how to make the card - I hope you enjoy it!
I would love to see what you come up with!
