White Christmas

I have had so much fun playing with the Half Full Stamp Set!   I just love that the set includes sayings for Christmas. It makes this set very versatile, and one that can be used all year!

Here is a quick and easy Christmas Card that I made.

 

The inside saying says, " But if the white runs out, I'll drink red!"

I used the Holly Texture Impressions Folder for the background of this card. the card stock colors I used were Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler. I water colored the wine glasses using an aqua painter and So Saffron ink pad.

Glass Half Full!

Are you a "glass half empty" or a "glass half full" kind of person?  I hope you are a "glass half full" kind of person. Sometimes I think we have to CHOOSE to be a positive thinker.  It is easy to jump to the negative view of circumstances, but in most cases it seems a positive slant can be found. This is a habit I am trying to form. I don't always succeed, but I am working on it!

With that in mind, I created this card. I truly wish for all my friends and family, that their glass will always be (at least) half full!!

 

 This card was pretty simple to create. The base is Fresh Fig card stock. I embossed the Whisper White card stock using the Garden Trellis Texture Impression Folder. The wine glasses and saying come from the Half Full Stamp Set. I water colored the glasses using an aqua painter and the Fresh Fig, So Saffron, and Sahara Sand ink pads.

Enjoy the LIttle Things!

With the busy lives that we all live, it is sometimes hard to remember to take time to enjoy the little things around us. That is one of the things that I love about living in Northern California in the wine country. We love to take a Sunday afternoon and go to one of the wineries to taste the local wines. It is a relaxing afternoon in the middle of some beautiful scenery. This time of the year is especially beautiful with the grapes hanging heavily on the vines waiting for just the right moment to be harvested.

 

Because we live in wine country, I was very excited to see the new Half Full stamp set in the Holilday Catalog this year!  It is even more special because a wonderful friend of mine, Linda Bauwin, got to help design the set as part of a perk for reaching $1 million in career sales! 

 

 

I really like the way the bottle looks watercolored. I used my aqua painter and the Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand and Fresh Fig ink pads to watercolor the bottle. I cut it out and layered it over the paper that I embossed with the Sweetheart Texture Folder. I stamped the saying in Fresh Fig ink using the Layering Love Stamp set, and cut it out using the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. For the base of the card, I used Always Artichoke card stock. I then layered with Fresh Fig and Very Vanilla card stock. For the finishing touch, I used the Always Artichoke enamel shapes to accent the top right corner of the card.

I spent some time playing with this set, so I will post more samples over the next couple of days!

It's Pumpkin Spice Latte time!

Fall has arrived!  Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back!

To honor this yearly fall tradition, I decided to create a card that would commemorate the event. 

The entire time that I was creating this card, I was thinking about my husband's cousin, Cheryl. She is a die hard Starbuck's fan. (I only know because we tend to share this trait). So Cheryl Craun - this one's for you!

The only thing that makes this "pumpkin spice latte" better than the "real ones", is that there are no calories!

 

 

This card was easy to make using the new Merry Cafe Stamp set and the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies.I have fallen in love with the new Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. It is so beautiful that  I have a hard time choosing which side of the designs to use! The card stock colors I used on this project are Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, and Very Vanilla for the layers. The cup was stamped and cut out of Whisper White card stock, and the cup liner was done on Crumb Cake. I love  that there is a die that also embosses a corrugated look onto the liner without distorting the words stamped onto it. Well done, Stampin'  Up! The finishing touch for the card was the new copper trim. I love this trim, and it adds a perfect fall touch!
