I am always sad when a new list of retiring products is released!
Stampin' Up! released their list of retiring products for the 2015 Holiday Catalog this week. Whew! it is pretty extensive! Download Holiday Retiring List - 2015
At first, I was very sad, but I am coming to terms with it - especially as I got a sneak peek of the products in the upcoming Occasions Catalog that will go live on January 5th!
Until that time, I am going to be playing with my stamps and inks like a crazy woman!
Here are some samples I have made using this folder.
This first sample was inspired by my friend Kimberly VanDiepen. She created a sample very similar to this one, I just changed it up very slightly. Thanks for the inspiration, Kimberly!
For this sample the folder is used simply as a background for the card. I will be using this as one of the cards in my Christmas Stamp a Stack in Livermore, CA on November 19. Click on this link for information on this class. Download Stamp a Stack of Christmas Cards 2015 - Class flyer
This second sample I made by inking up the side of the folder where the background was raised, using Night of Navy ink. I then inserted white card stock and ran it through the Big Shot. It is simple, and gives a beautiful colored background with white trees in the foreground. The White Glitter Ribbon and the Snowflake Elements were the perfect way to finish off the card.
For this last sample, I inked the background on the folder with Soft Sky ink, then stamped the trees from the Wonderland Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow ink onto the background before placing my white paper into the folder and running it through the Big Shot. I removed some of the soft sky ink from the folder with a sponge dauber before placing my paper into the folder. This created the "sun". The Cardinals from the White Christmas set were cut out and placed onto the card at the very end.
I was trying to figure out a way to use the cardinal from the Joyful Season set as a layer, without having to cut him out. I am NOT a fussy cutter!! That is why I love my framelit dies!
Here is what I came up with:
He just fits on one of our banner framelits, while still allowing room for the "Joyful" stamp at the bottom.
