My last post was a very simple quick and easy card made using the Happy Congratulations Stamp Set.
Today, I made a couple of "stepped-up" versions of this card.
For this first one, I added several layers including a layer of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper from the Sale -a- Bration Brochure - click this link to see the brochure - Download 20131119_SAB_en_US .This set of paper is one of the items that you can choose for free from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure with a $50 purchase of products of your choice. This offer is valid until March 31st.

I am drawn to the quick and clean cards right now. As with everyone, life is busy and when I need a card, I often don't have a lot of time to spend creating it.
Several of the stamp sets in the Occasions Catalog make wonderful quick cards! One of those sets is the Happy Congratulations Stamp set.
This card literally took me about a minute to make. I love that the lantern is a separate stamp so that it makes it easy to stamp it in various colors.
I needed a quick thank you card for a friend of mine. I had my Happy Watercolor Stamp Set out on my desk, so I grabbed it up and went to work! (or play)
The card needed to be very quick to make since she was on her way to my house.
Here is what I came up with:
I love the background stamp in this set. It makes stamping a quick card very easy!!
Happy Watercolor Set
This is probably my favorite set from the Occasions Catalog.
For accents, I used the twine from the Sweet Sorbet Pack in the Sale a Bration Brochure.
Don't forget that now through March 31st, you will get a free item from the Sale a Bration Brochure for each $50 you order!
I know many of you have not received your Paper Pumpkin for February yet. If you want to be surprised, look no further!!
If you would like a preview, then continue to read!
The kit this month is really cute! It comes with 4 small gift bags. The gift bags are made of a heavy "grocery bag" type of paper. They are very sturdy! They have large eyelets at the top on both sides. These are so that you can thread the heavy white grosgrain ribbon through to make handles.
The kit also includes two photopolymer circular stamps. One is striped, the other creates a background with polka dots. There are also precut circles in Bermuda Bay color, and a smaller shape that is white so that you can stamp the backgrounds onto them using the Pistachio Pudding ink spot that is included.
There are pieces of baker's twine included as well as small clothespins and stampin' dimensionals. The kit also includes several sheets of letters so that you can personalize the banner that you create for the outside of your bag.
This kit is really cute! I will be using all four bags. They are a handy size for small gifts like baked goods, a book, jewelry, etc....
Have you seen other My Paper Pumpkin kits that you liked, but missed? For a short time (while supplies last), you can purchase refills for the kits, or purchase those kits that you missed and wanted!
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE A CURRENT MY PAPER PUMPKIN SUBSCRIBER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY!
I am thrilled to have my oldest daughter getting married in July.
As a mother of the bride, and a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I had to walk the fine balance line of incorporating my ideas and wishes into her invitations, while allowing her to come up with the design she wanted and liked.
Here is what we agreed on. It is a combination of My Digital Studio and our great card stock and embellishments. All of the details are printed on the back of the invitation. It is going to be a very small, intimate ceremony, so she wanted the invitations to be very simple.
The box tutorial from my last post can be tweeked to make various sizes of boxes. I made boxes of cards this year to give as Christmas gifts to neighbors and several people that my husband works with. I used the same basic pattern for my boxes. The only difference was that I changed the size of the base of the box. I also used the box bottom from the tutorial for both the top and the bottom, and just made the top slightly bigger than the bottom. This pattern works very well (especially when using designer paper) because the sides are double the thickness, so they are much more sturdy.
Here is a picture of the boxed cards that I gave away.
Well, here it is! The tutorial I promised yesterday for the candy box.
Here is a picture of my completed decorated box. For the tutorial, I am using a simple white box so that it is easy to see all of the measurements.
For the bottom of the box,I started with a piece of 7.75 x 12 inch piece of card stock. (I actually used designer paper on my decorated box). I made the sides double the thickness to make the box more sturdy and to give a nice finished edge to the box.
Turn the paper to the 7.75 inch side and score at 1.5, 3.0, 4.75, and 6.25 inches using the Simply Scored Tool. (I have shown all of the score lines in blue to make it easy to see)
Score the 12 inch side of the paper at 1.5, 3.0, 9, and 10.5 inches using the Simply Scored Tool.
Cut away the top two small "boxes" on the 7.75 inch side of the paper, formed by the score lines from each corner ( shown in the photo as the shaded areas).
To make tabs, cut along the 3 inch and the nine inch score lines (on the 12 inch side of the paper) until you reach the second score line from the edge. Turn the paper 180 degrees and repeat this step. This will create 4 long tabs. (do not fold the score lines in the middle of these tabs).
Begin folding along the score lines (except for those on the tabs). Fold all the score lines in toward the bottom of the box.
Use sticky strip to hold the sides together. Adhere the short ends of the box together first, by simply folding them down toward the bottom of the box.
Next, adhere the tabs to the sides of the box using sticky strip.
Be sure to line the bottom of the tab up with the bottom of the box. Be sure that the tab is on the inside of the box.
Once all of the tabs are adhered to the sides, fold and sticky strip the top portion of the long sides down over the bottom portion (and the tabs that are already adhered there).
Your box bottom is now done!
For the top of the box, cut a piece of card stock 6.25 x 8 5/16 inches (It is easier to use the scoring blade on your cutter for this since you will be using 1/16th of an inch markings). I made each side of the box top slightly larger than those of the bottom so that it would slide easily. The exact measurements for the score lines (along the 8 5/16 inch edge) are 1 9/16, 3 3/8, 4 15/16, and 6 3/4 inches. I have included these measurements for those that are very precise - to make things easier, follow the instructions below.
NOTE: to make this easier, put your paper edge at the 1.5 mark, and move it over 1/16th inch to the left, then score.
Move this SCORE LINE to the 1 3/4 inch mark, and then move it left 1/16th of an inch and score.
Move this second score line to the 1.5 inch mark and then left 1/16th of an inch and score.
Move this third score line to the 1 3/4 inch mark and then left another 1/16th of an inch left and score.
I found this method much easier than counting out the 1/16th inch marks.
Fold all of your score lines inward. Using sticky strip, overlap and adhere the two end tabs together.
NOTE: I found that it was easier to remove the red cover from ONLY the piece of sticky strip closest to the fold - adhere that strip (lining up the fold with the top edge of the other piece). After that strip is securely in place, remove the other red cover from the second piece of sticky strip - (you will have to reach inside the box to do this)- and secure in place. If you do not do it this way, you risk the sticky strip grabbing where you do not want it, and sticky strip is not very forgiving!!
Your box top should look like a box with one tab folded inside of the other and adhered together the entire length.
Now slide this box top over the bottom, and your are done! Decorate as desired!
I had a friend ask me for a template for a box that would fit 4 pieces of Ferrero Rocher candy. Well, I am always up for a challenge, so I sat down and made one! This is what the box looks like.
"Do I have a template?" you ask. I will have a tutorial for making this box on my blog tomorrow. I am working on it now, but wanted to get these pictures out to you so that you knew what was coming!
To create the tag, I stamped the heart near the edge of a folded piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and then cut it out using the hearts framelits, with the framelit slightly overlapping the edge of the fold. This gave me a tag that opens. I also used the heart framelits to make the windows on the box top. I covered the windows with a piece of our window sheet on the back side.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for a full tutorial on making the box!
I was SO THRILLED when I saw the Petite Petals Bundle in the Occasions Catalog! I knew instantly that I would be using it with the Flower Shop Bundle from the regular catalog. The two bundles just go hand in hand!!
Everytime that I used the Flower Shop Bundle, I remember thinking, "boy, I wish we had a smaller flower like this!" Well, now we DO!
These flowers with their matching punches make creating a beautiful card a breeze! I also used the Decorative Dots Texture Folder from the Sale a Bration Brochure to texturize the white card stock used for the background on this card.
The only other thing this card needed was a bit of bling! The large flowers have dazzling diamonds glitter in the center, while the smaller flowers have rhinestones. I also used the strips of rhinestones along the ege of the oval center of this card. You can never have too much bling!!
I wanted to make a very quick and simple card today.
I used the Love You To the Moon Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog. The only stamp I used was the musical note.
I stamped it four times using Blushing Bride Ink, and then stamped once using Cherry Cobbler Ink. I stamped it a second time onto scrap paper using Cherry Cobbler Ink and then punched the note out using the 3/4 inch circle punch. I popped this up using a stampin' dimensional. I also cut out the flag portion of the note and popped it up. I highlighted the heart on the flag with dazzling details glitter glue.
I colored in the extra words on the Blushing Bride notes using the Blushing Bride marker.
