This is the perfect time of year to whip up a few gift card holders. What a great way to add a personal touch to those gift cards! I have done a few over the past several days. Check back the next 2 days for more gift card tutorials.
Top Note Gift Card Holder
Take a 5 x 8.5 piece of cardstock. Score at 3.5, 4.25 and 5.0 inches. Accordian fold the score lines to that the center of the cardstock folds to the inside.
Cut along the center score line only to make a slit large enough to hold the gift card (with the long side in the slit).
Turn cardstock over and put adhesive along the very edge of the other 2 score lines.
Take a 7.25 x 5 inch piece of designer paper. Fold in half and place around the cardstock that you used to make the card holder. DO NOT ADHERE YET! Place the solid cardstock with the designer paper onto the Top Note Big Shot Die with the folded edge just before the cut line so that the fold is not cut away. Run the die through the Big Shot.
Take the designer paper and snip along the perforated line.
Place the designer paper back over the solid cardstock, and you should now see a small strip of the solid paper along the edge of the designer paper.
Punch a small hole a quarter of an inch in from the edge of the point on the long side of the top note (punch through both layers).
Feed an 18 inch piece of grosgrain ribbon through the hole from the back to the front. Wrap the back piece of ribbon around the holder, and tie both ends together at the front of the card holder.
Decorate as desired!
Check back tomorrow for another tutorial!
