Halloween Ideas

While my family does not celebrate Halloween, I know that most do. I have posted some ideas that Shirley Casey,  one of the demonstrators in our group, shared with me. They are adorable - although I cannot take credit for them! Thanks for sharing, Shirley!!

These Peppermint Patty spiders are my favorite! They are made with our circle scallop punch and our photo corner punch(it makes 2 sizes, the larger is done in black, and the smaller in various colors of your choice). The eyes and noses are done with the 1/4 inch punch.

 

Here are some candy bars covered with designer series paper and then crimpred closed on the ends.

 

These pencil holders are adorable!!

Last, but certainly not least are these cute little bats holding the pixie sticks!

 

These are some great ideas for your children's classroom parties, or for those trick-or-treaters that will be visiting your door very soon!

Fun with the Big Shot!

I am back from Utah! It was another fun and very informative trip. Now it is back to work! I apologize that I haven't posted in awhile. I am back on track now, so here we go!

Since we have several birthday stamps on sale this month, I decided to feature them at my workshops. Here is a card I did at my last two workshops. To create the card base, I used the Big Shot. I folded a half sheet of 8.5 x 11 cardstock as I normally would for my card. I then put the fold of the card just below the edge of the large scallop die and ran the die through the Big Shot. This was the result.

 

 

Next, I cut a small strip of the double stitched chocolate grosgrain ribbon through the Big Shot using the large scallop die. This cut the ribbon so that it fit along the scallops on the edge of the card.

 

I ran a piece of watercolor paper through the Big shot using the larger of the scallops on the scallop #2 die.  I then stamped the large cupcake from the Crazy for Cupcakes set onto the watercolor paper using Basic Brown ink. I watercolored using the watercolor crayons and the aqua painter. You can get the aqua painter this month (or while supplies last) for just $7.25!

 

I then added some of our beads from the bead duos using the tobow multi-purpose glue. I also used a sponge duaber to add a bit of brown ink to the scallops on the watercolor paper.

Faux Mesh Tutorial

A big thanks to Patty Bennet for sharing this techniuqe with me!! It is so fun!

I have missed the magic mesh since Stampin' Up! stopped carrying it. This technique allows me to get a similar look.

supplies: classic ink, cardstock, crimper, brayer

 

Step one: crimp cardstock in one direction.

  

 

Step 2: Bray over crimped cardstock

 

step three: crimp cardstock in opposite direction

 

step 4: bray over the cardstock that has been crimped a second time.

 

You now have a piece of cardstock that appears to have magic mesh layered over it.

 

step 5: Create your card.
