Stamping truly is my therapy! It has been a VERY STRESSFUL week of running 3 kids to multiple activities in addition to early out days from school! I am SO READY to be back to a normal schedule!
I decided I needed a bit of "stamping therapy", and it was exactly the right thing to do! After just a few minutes in my stamping garage, I was feeling calmer and much more joyful! I guess those feelings were what inspired this card.
I have been using primarily items from the Holiday Catalog lately. I decided I needed to play with some of my supplies from the Annual Catalog so that they were not being neglected. There is a really great Christmas set in the Annual Catalog called Joyful Nativity. I used that set to create this card.
I stamped the "JOY" stamp onto a piece of whisper white cardstock using Night of Navy Ink. The 1 3/4 inch circle punch is the perfect size for cutting out the center of the "O". I hadn't intended to make this card into a shaker card, but the longer I played, the more it screamed to become a shaker! I stamped the nativity image on a piece of whisper white card stock using Night of Navy ink. I then punched the image out using the 2 inch circle punch. Next, I punched a piece of window sheet using the 2 inch circle punch as well. I adhered the window sheet to the back of the open hole of the "O" using the fine tip glue pen. I created a well using the foam adhesive strips. I added the white mica flakes to the well. I then removed the paper strip from the foam adhesive strip and adhered my 2 inch circle with the nativity image over the well. I then adhered the entire shaker layer to a piece of Night of Navy card stock. I created the sunburst from the copper foil sheets using the Sunburst Thinlits die. I layered the sunburst over the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I then layered all of this onto a night of navy card base. The words were also included in the Joyful Nativity Stamp set, and I stamped them using night of navy ink.
The lighting in the photo makes the sunburst look like it was cut from the gold foil sheets, but I actually used the copper foil sheets. This card would great with the gold foil or the silver foil as well!
I am headed back to my stamping garage for a bit more stamping therapy!
