Dahlias are one of my favorite flowers. I love how they almost look fake because they are so perfect! They come in so many colors and sizes!
I was excited to see this stamp set come out in the new catalog. I was drawn to it in the catalog, but when I actually stamped with it, I was in love! The stamp looks amazing in many different colors!
I wanted to keep this card relatively simple, so I stamped the dahlia once in Tangerine Tango, then masked the image and stamped another flower overlapping the mask I made for the first one. When the mask is removed, it looks like the second dahlia is under the first. To get the slight orange tint on the flowers, I used a blender pen right after I stamped just to pick up a bit of the color and use it to fill in the open spaces on the petals. To make the center a bit more golden, I used Daffodil Delight ink with the blender pen to fill in some of the center petals on each flower.
After I was done stamping and coloring the flowers, I cut the paper into three strips of equal size. I arranged the strips evenly spaced across the Tangerine Tango Card stock, and added my sayings and embellishments. I added just a sprinkling of dazzling diamonds glitter by using my two-way glue pen.
